OYSTER HEADS
Collage: Alis la Luna
Oyster Heads is an ongoing Collage product by Alis la Luna designing various people with their heads replaced as oysters. The comment proves to be Freudian as the oyster's muscles are used to close and in these works this corresponds to a desire to prevent intrusion into ones mind. On the other hand, an ancient reading of oysters would symbolise Aphrodite, the goddess of love, fertility, pleasure, and of course, sex. Oysters are an aphrodisiac and they are overtly erotic. This duality shows Oyster Heads to bridge the gap between lust and isolation, between desire and seclusion.
